3. Remove the Internals: Use an adjustable wrench to unscrew the packing nut or retaining clip. Carefully pull out the stem (in compression faucets) or the cartridge (in modern faucets).

4. Inspect and Replace:

      • Compression Faucets: Replace the small rubber washer at the bottom of the stem and the O-ring.
